I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty
(2 Corinthians 6:18)
Beloved! Jesus Christ loves you and that is why He has given His life for you. His blood cleanses you from all sin and sets you free from the guilt.
There was once a woman who did not know Christ. Her religion taught her that God was a strict judge and that whenever a person sinned against him, he would immediately punish that person for his/her sins. Because of this, she was living in fear that he would punish her for her sins. As days went by, she had to face many problems and she had nowhere to run. She knew well that none but God could save her and was very scared to pray to him.
At this juncture, she met a God-fearing couple who offered to pray for her. This couple began their prayer saying, “Our loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for shedding Your precious blood and washing away our sins so that we can boldly stand before You with our petitions...” The minute this woman heard this statement that her sins have been forgiven and washed away, a great joy flooded her! That night, for the first time in her life, she knelt down and called on God as her Father. God’s love engulfed her and delivered her from all her problems. In the course of time her relationship with Christ grew strong and she wrote the book ‘I dare to call him Father!’
Sin creates a wall that separates you from God. God is Holy and cannot behold sin. The Lord says, "Your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear" (Isaiah 59:2). But God in His love made a way for you by sacrificing Himself and shedding His sinless blood on the cross. His sinless blood has broken the wall and you are reconciled with God!
Are you worried that no one loves you or cares for you? Beloved! God loves you and longs for you! When you give Him your heart, you become His own and belong to His household. The Almighty will be a Father to you and you shall become His son /daughter (2 Corinthians 6:18). Forever.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Cleanse me with Your blood and make me Your own. I thank You that You gave Yourself on the cross breaking down the wall caused by my sins and making a way for me to reconcile with You. Give me grace to be one with You in Spirit. Help me to live holy and pleasing to You. I give You all glory, honour and praise.
Amen.
